Bulk Salt
You need a lot of salt. Thousands of tons. Where to get it? How to get it? Who can make that happen.
Snow Fighter’s Supply can! Even if you don’t have your own depot. We have contacts up and down the Mississippi and Ohio River who can handle that for you. We also have ports throughout the Great Lakes as well.
We can also source the salt from Brazil, Peru, Chile, or the United Kingdom. These products get the job done!
ITS WHATS INSIDE THAT COUNTS!
Domestic salt is predominantly white or clear. However, salt around the world comes in a wide variety of beautiful colors. Why is not all salt white? Does salt with color affect it’s de-icing capabilities?
Let’s see what the Salt Institute (the industry think tank and resource organization) has to say:
“The color in salt comes from impurities (minerals, primarily, other than sodium chloride). Salt used to melt snow and ice routinely meets a standard of 95% NaCl purity. That means up to 5% is something else. That “something” else can be colorful. I’ve seen black, pink, orange, etc. salt. The NaCl is what melts the snow and ice so, no, it won’t impede the de-icing performance.”
- Dick Hanneman, Salt Institute.
